Early Reporting Can Begin
Thursday, March12
Residents will begin receiving their census invitations that include a link where residents can fill out the census online. Anyone wishing to register can do so online or by phone.

Census Day
Wednesday, April 1, 2020
Once you receive the census invitation, you should respond for your home in one of three ways: online, by phone, or by mail. When you respond to the census, you'll tell the Census Bureau where you live as of April 1, 2020.

Reminders Mailed
Monday, April 6, 2020 - Thursday, April 16
The U.S. Census will mail letters to residents who have not yet filled out their census form.
The mailers will include a paper copy of the census that residents can fill out and send back.

Final Reminder Post Card
Monday, April 20 - Monday, April 27, 2020
Final reminder post cards will be mailed out to all residents who have no yet taken the census online, by phone or sent in their form. This is the last reminder before house visits begin.

Census Takers Go Door to Door
May - July 2020
Census takers will go door to door to those residents who have not yet responded to the census. All census takers will have proof of ID.

Census Report
Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020
By this day, the Census Bureau is required to report to the President of the United States the 2020 population totals and the apportionment of seats in the U.S. House of Representatives.
